From Wheels To Motors…
This is MY NEW old Singer 328k Industrial. For the uneducated Singer was founded in the mid 1800’s becoming the worlds largest sewing machine manufacturer company. What’s so special about this one? Well, in the 50’s Singer introduced the cam series. These machines have the option to change out cams to make different “designer” stitches. The hard thing is to find all the cams…so far I have 8 of the series and I’m still trying to get my hands on more to complete my set. My next purchase will be a Juki serger….preferably 4 thread, so if anyone wants to support my clothing venture, after you donate money to the Haiti relief programs if you have anything left over you can throw that money my way.
Also, I’m looking to buy a new camera. Nothing too crazy, maybe a Nikon D80 or D90. Anything would be upgrade to my piece of shit. This past weekend was one of those weekends where you mix business with pleasure. Friday, I started the night off at Yas’s studio in the Murphy building. My dude Oreo Jones did his thing on the mic while Bryan worked the tables. Of all the times I’ve watched/heard Bryan spin, that night he was on top of his game. He killed it!!!!!!
Action Jackson did it big, as always! A2 aka “A Squared Industries” was there in full effect. I haven’t seen these guys in minute. When I was booking/promoting shows back in the day, they were always helping me out with advice and contacts. Now they have their own radio station and on top of the promotions game!
Emi and Greg “The Mayor”. I think it’s fair to say that Greg is probably one of the most respectable and well known photographers in Indy. This dude is amazing – the epitome of punk rock!!!
Afterward, I ended up over at Steven, Dustin and Cole’s place for a little going away party for the guys. They’re leaving on tour for a couple of months. Every time I hang out with Action Jackson he has some crazy outfit on, runnin around callin me “Little Jeans”.
Steven sings for a band called Haste The Day. They’re a pretty big deal. I remember seeing these guys when they were playing up in Carmel all the time. Now they tour non-stop. Dustin usually tours with them as their merch guy. He just got done touring with ICP – I think that shit is hilarious. He told me he’s going to write a book about it. I’d buy it!
Besides touring all the time, I’ve come to find out that Dustin has to be the best guy ever! I’ve decided if he ever started a fan-club, I’d be the president! Always has a smile on his face and good heart! Such a legit dude. Side-note: Tara’s hot!
Kristen and Cole. By now it’s 4 or 5am Saturday morning and Cole is pissed because we’re still up making noise and he can’t sleep. Cole, I hope your morning shift was too shitty. I’m sorry bro!
This is Megan. Don’t call her cute! She’s not! She’s beeautiful!!!
Sean “Oreo Jones”. All I’m saying is the recordings I’ve heard are big label material. This guy is on fire!!!
The rest of the weekend was full of meetings and practice. I’ve been working with Naomi on something really big for this summer. I’m so stoked on this year so far. Everything seems to be working out for the better and I’m just happy to be a part of it. I leave you with Chris and a puppy.
Midwest Mayhem…
So this past weekend was Midwest Mayhem. I know Renner, Wolf, Jason, Chode and Burd went out. I’ve seen some of the footage and it looked like it was rad as shit.

Cole Maness should be famous.
Besides being the inspiration for my own mustache, the image provides some insight/humor in a racers morning rituals. Eat, stretch, ride. Cole Maness is one of the West Coast riders for Rapha.
If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving isn’t for you.
Tiffany and Nick decided to celebrate their birthday’s this past Saturday. Tiffany’s was a couple of weeks ago and Nick’s is this upcoming weekend… Thank you Nick and TIff for such a great time as well as a great hangover the following morning.
Nick and I had some good conversation about motorcycles. Specifically café bikes. I’ve always wanted to get an old BMW and fabricate it for café racing. If you get a chance check out his blog here, so much amazing info for any café enthusiast.
Ben’s band played. They don’t have a name. They’re amazing!!!
I don’t know how, but J. Trapp saw this extremely small spider from across a very dim room and took a couple shots of it.
Doug smashing on some wine. Krom showing the use of his middle finger.
By this point in the night I was pretty smashed. I know I was so happy to see Newg. It’s the most fucked up thing, he literally lives a block away and I never see him. Hopefully we can get some riding in. You can tell we all are overly anxious for spring and summer.
Haiti relief efforts…
It’s been nearly a week after the catastrophic earthquake hit Haiti. Amazingly, victims are still being rescued after days without food and water. Photos and videos can give you only a minuscule idea of what this country is going through. Devastation like this always seems to ignite the human heart and unite us all. Times are tough, but we can’t compare to what is happening in Haiti. For ways to help, click here. Thank you.
Where the hell did all the time go? It’s already 2010???
It’s been exactly one month since my last post and I’ve already received flack from some of my California friends due to my lack of upkeep. Within the past 30 days we’ve all celebrated the coming of a new year. 2010. Some might say we’re two years away from the end of the world. Others are celebrating the end of a decade. No matter how you look at it, a new year usually brings new beginnings, new ideas, new calendars and new year resolutions. Last night I was texting a lady friend who asked me how 2010 has treated me…I replied, “2010 has been very polite so far”. Like most, I usually start off the new year with a couple of resolutions. Nothing too far-fetched or outlandish. Just personal goals for the year.
1. Soigneur full denim and apparel line up & running. – Obviously with financial crisis worldwide, starting a small business might not be the greatest idea to some. But for the past three years I’ve done my research and have carefully taken all the steps and proper procedures to set up a legitimate and aggressive business plan that will hopefully uphold to the standards of how I would like to run this line.
2. Races, Racing & Tricking. – I’m already in the works for at least two races so far for spring. I would like to put on as many races possible this year. Last year was a dud and I would like to see more and more people get involved. With that in mind, I would like to take this track season more seriously and possibly do more traveling to participate in other city races as well. Last but not least, I haven’t been tricking as much as I used to a couple years back. Skimming through video to video of Wonka, Mosher, Prolly, Tom LaMarche, Carney and of course seeing our locals Shawn Wolf, Renner, Jason Smith doing it big is very inspirational and motivational.
3. HELP!!!! – This is something that I think all of us have wanted to do (or at least I would hope so). No matter what your beliefs are or aren’t I think all of us want to help someone. May it be a friend or stranger we have our reasons. Seeing the Haiti catastrophe lights something for me and makes me want to whatever I can for this country and it’s people. This year I would like to do some good for my friends, for my family, for the helpless.
Obviously there are the little things we all want to work on…but these three are my big ones.
That being said, here’s a recap from the past month. (FYI – Some photos might be offensive. / I forgot to take my camera to our New Years party – Let’s just say a lot alcohol was consumed and Doug can punch like a boxer.)
I have a love/hate relationship for Indiana. I love it when it snows but when I first experienced Midwest wind chill I wanted to just stay home for the duration of winter. That shit is stupid! It’s weird, Indiana really doesn’t see snow until January. Yet, wind chill starts to exist around November. Even the dog hates it.
For the locals, Tuesday is always spent at Coaches for hip-hop. Usually spinning is DJ MetroGnome but my guy DJ B Qwyatt aka Bryan Wyatt had the opportunity to spin this past Tuesday.
I know this was huge for him…he killed it!!!!! Everyone look out for this dude, I have a feeling this will be his year!
A couple of weeks ago one of our guys had a birthday. Doug turned 23. So Mixed Fixed decided to celebrate in rare form!!!
A month ago Morrow came to me about kidnapping Doug for his birthday. Although it was a great idea, execution was a lot more difficult than any of us planned. It never really worked out. In the end, Doug “volunteered” to get kidnapped which was still pretty gnarly. The boys bagged his head and zip-tied his arms and legs together while I was pushing 70 mph through the city of Indianapolis in a 15-passenger van.
Unfortunately I didn’t get any photos of the kidnapping itself, but when we arrived at Taps and Dolls I was able to at least get this shot. We might have tied the zip-ties a little too tight.

Every time I turned my head someone was ordering him really sweet drinks. I wonder if they tasted as pretty as they looked.
I don’t know if it’s because we’re stuck inside so much…but I’m coming to the conclusion that pool has become our winter sport of choice. As you skim through this post you’ll see what I’m talking about.
We all ended up at Morrow’s afterwards for more drinks and debauchery.
Sam Jackson doing what he does best.
Doug doing what he does best. CRAZY!!!!!!
I don’t even know what to say to this one.
I don’t even know what time I left.
Seeing how Doug didn’t know about our kidnapping, he celebrated night before in Bripple.
So was the Wolf man. Unfortunately, I got a little carried away and forgot to take photos. The ones I did take made no sense – so use your imagination. Doug, I hope you had a good Birthday!!!!
Besides celebrating New Years we also celebrated Christmas. A lot of my family still lives in California as well as Asia so it’s usually a low-key day for me. I stopped by the parents to give some gifts and have some breakfast.
This is one of my parents cats – “Cali”
This is my pops. He’s the backbone of my family. I’m so fortunate to have him as a father. My mentor, me hero. Yes, he looks like that dude from O.C. Choppers.
My father and brother are huge Scotch drinkers so it’s been a tradition that I give my father a bottle each year. Usually something new and obscure that he hasn’t had. I was so intrigued by the Port Cask that I bought this bottle for him.
Sometime in the middle of December some of the guys decided to have a Christmas party…it was mainly an excuse to drink and see friends but we also had a little gift exchange.
Soooooo….Doug and I ended up shopping for gifts.
We had the fiesta over at Morrows. P.S. Ben looks like a demon in this photo.
This is Brooke. She’s absolutely amazing. She’s also crazy which makes for the perfect pair with Ben.
It was great to see Tool and Newg come out. Chris is a neighbor of mine yet I never see him. Him and Ben Hunt run a blog called Indy Cog. Check it out.
The past month has been such a great time. Although, with a New Year brings new adventures and I’ll be the first to say I can’t wait to see what this year brings.
